For the sixth consecutive year HRV girls soccer took the CRC championships. This was official the Thursday before last when the girls defeated Pendleton on their home turf, 1-0. This last week, the girls ended their senior night in a 0-0 draw with Hermiston. Tonight in The Dalles the girls face off with the Riverhawks for the last league game.
Next Wednesday will be the first playoff game. If they win that game they will play again that Saturday for quarter finals. Their opponents are to be determined.
When the Eagles traveled to Pendleton, they had a rough game against the Buckaroos. With a lot of yelling from the sidelines, the girls had to learn to cope with the crowd. After the game Coach Haspela commented on the wonderful Hood River crowds that encourage the players in a sportsmanlike manner.
During last Wednesday’s Senoir Night, emotions were high making the tie to a team, they had previously defeated 5-1, the much more difficult. Eagles controlled most of the game.
