The Hood River Valley Boys Soccer team struck again Tuesday, beating Wilsonville 2-0 and advancing to the state finals for the second year in a row.. The boys played a strong offensive game, with goals by Alex Gutierrez and Mario Sandoval. HRV students filled the stands and braved the cold conditions. Throughout the season they have been undefeated and a 7-1 victory over Mountain View High last Saturday earned a spot in the semi-final round, in which they defeated Wilsonville. Now they are on their way to finals for a second consecutive time.
“Its set….with a 2-0 win last night against the Wilsonville Wildcats, Hood River Valley Boys soccer has punched their card for a second consecutive State Championship appearance,” wrote head coach Jaime Rivera on his Facebook page. Rivera also pointed to junior Marco Cuevas’ save of a penalty kick at the end of the first half the “play of the game,” because it preserved a 1-0 lead going into halftime.

Admission for the game is $6 per student and $8 per adult.There will be an HRVHS Eagle Army Rooter Bus and it will leave at 10:30 am and will return by 5 pm . Permission forms are in the guidance office and must be turned in by Friday at noon along with $6.
