The HRV boys soccer team advanced to the second round of the OSAA playoffs tonight by defeating Central High School 2-0 in a hard-fought match at Henderson Community Stadium. Senior Alex Gutierrez scored both goals, breaking a scoreless deadlock with 30 minutes left to play then adding the clincher 18 minutes later.
HRV will host tenth-rated Mountain View of Bend in the quarterfinals Sturday at 2pm at Henderson Community Stadium in Hood River.
