Today’s assembly in the HRV gym officially kicked off Homecoming Week 2014 at HRVHS. The week’s activities get rolling Sunday, with hall decoration from 10-4. There’s a Dance Competition on Tuesday at lunch in the gymnasium, and the Bonfire returns to Henderson Stadium on Wednesday night. The ever-popular Air Guitar competition is on Thursday, and a new event is set for Friday: a pre-game Tailgate Party is set for the South parking lot from 5-7 p.m., replacing the parade and Jackson Park festivities of previous years. On Friday night, the HRV football team takes on North Eugene in the Homecoming game, and at halftime the king and queen will be crowned. The week wraps up on Saturday night with a Homecoming dance at HRV.

At the assembly the Homecoming court was named. It includes princesses Lulu Rodriguez, Lucy McLean, Hannah Simons, and Sophie Grace. The princes include Riley Van Hoose, Dallen Olmstead, Cameron Walker, and Stuart Hill.
